I've been wondering this for a while now..

With the current antibiotic resistance and super bugs on the rise, I wondered if just rubbing your hands together, without soap/water kills germs or if it would be like trying to crush a baseball with the grand canyon..

WASHING HANDS: FACT VS. FRICTION

The 15-Second Friction is touted by public health officials. Even first-graders are taught its importance.

The "Friction" is the rubbing together of your hands (not just the water and the soap), which gives a good whack to the germs you've picked up on door knobs, telephones, countertops and other surfaces shared with others.

Hand sanitizer smells and feels awful and taking cash and credit cards from crowds of people over cold/flu season, can be pretty nerve wracking.

Rubbing my hands together vigorously or on my jeans to kill germs, seemed a good way to kill potential pathogens in between bathroom visits.

I got the idea recalling the smashed protozoa from science class where the glass top slide, was dropped too hard.

Seems bacteria and viruses would crush in a similar fashion.

Random thoughts.

Kanye West Says He’s ‘the Greatest Artist That God Has Ever Created’

The rapper told the crowd of about 16,000 at Lakewood Church that the “devil stole all the good producers, all the good musicians, all the good artists, all the good designers,” but that a shift was coming because “now, the greatest artist that God has ever created is working for him.”

Of the $103 million paid, the newspaper reported that $99 million was offered up as cash

Maybe Seer - I don't know her as well as you.

Was tempted to do so myself - didn't have the details, nor do I think I would have been quite as...diplomatic... as you.

Regardless - ignoring the situation would have been enabling it and letting it grow worse without any support in place.

Sounds like she was making good progress, be a shame for that to be lost.

I repeatedly researched the place due to the vibes I was getting, so the name of the place stuck out fresh in my head.

It looks very legit. The cult sync was what it was and certainly led down a rabbit hole of my own. Which I feel liberated from some aspects that plagued me just a few weeks back.

Seeing that 'list of messiahs', jarred something loose.

Exactly. I told them I would not enable her and I will not. I've told her that repeatedly.

Not the first time.

Eh. The large amount of time dedicated to a single book, the control of dating (which I can understand to a point - don't date the ex you used to use with) etc - meh struck me as controlling/cultish. But similar could be said of AA...but I consider most of them cults, just large/accepted enough to become classified as a religion..so I'm rather biased chuckle
It's been going on for a while, and the longer it continued...well the issue would just compound mentally - let alone the physical toll.

I can understand those who are born into any belief system, having a difficult time shaking it or getting out of it. In most cases, there is no choice for females or children.

What I found really strange, was the males that fall for these 'leaders'.

For example..the lawyer in the Rev Moon vid, attesting to Rev Moon's purity, when asked about his very human 'sins'.

Did he praise him and defend him because he believed in him, or because he is paid to do so? Or both?

Which one holds more weight and why?

He had a very strange look on his face when defending Rev Moon who is dead.

It was something that struck me in the Mormon Manson documentary. These men have 'visions' and then claim to be 'the messiah' or the chosen one.

His brother, the one he had killed, is still viewed in that manner in the group.

It just all seems so silly now. All of it. Devious too. The dissonance is gone though. I feel like I see it clearer now that I'm on the outside. At least for now.

The open source projects backed by communities across the world can improve the world, and does to some degree. For an example, about 90% of OS and apps I use are open source.

The so-called "Saviours" are not needed, because everyone can contribute as proved by the open source projects. I learned that saviours are those whom desire self-importance and can only lead to elitism behaviours and thus potentially enable or exercise power actions over people, reducing their/our freewill decisions and actions which is something that some people and myself included don't want that.

I remember Zen on other site says something along this line; "Everyone is scholar". With an additional thought by myself, everyone is scholar in their own way. Well, yeah. And other saying, everyone each holds a piece of jigsaw puzzle in a way.

Bucharest (AFP) – Rescuers were struggling Sunday to save 14,600 sheep loaded on a cargo ship that capsized in the Black Sea off the coast of Romania, they said.

The Queen Hind bound for Saudi Arabia overturned for yet unknown reasons shortly after leaving Romania’s Midia port.

The crew of 20 Syrians and one Lebanese were rescued, together with 32 sheep, two of which were pulled from the water, said Ana-Maria Stoica, a spokeswoman for the rescue services.

“The rescue operation is ongoing… We hope that the sheep inside the ship’s hold are still alive,” she told AFP.

Rescuers supported by the military, police and divers were trying to right the Palau-flagged ship and pull it to the port, she said.

Jerusalem syndrome

Jerusalem syndrome is a group of mental phenomena involving the presence of religiously-themed obsessive ideas, delusions, or other psychosis-like experiences that are triggered by a visit to the city of Jerusalem.

It is not endemic to one single religion or denomination but has affected J-ws, Christians, and Muslims of many different backgrounds.

The best known, although not the most prevalent, manifestation of Jerusalem syndrome is the phenomenon whereby a person who seems previously balanced and devoid of any signs of psychopathology becomes psychotic after arriving in Jerusalem.

The psychosis is characterized by an intense religious theme and typically resolves to full recovery after a few weeks or after being removed from the area.

America’s Messiah Complex

Each of the messiahs profiled by Morris brought with them various idiosyncrasies, but none could top Cyrus Teed, aka Koresh, whose theology led to perhaps the most gruesome post-mortem life of any god or prophet. Teed had built a successful commune (the Koreshan Unity) in southwestern Florida with his puritanical critique of mainline churches, which, he argued, “prostituted” their members through the debased institution of marriage.

Through celibacy and religious purification, Teed instructed his followers, they would “translate” from their corrupt, mortal forms to a bisexual, immortal new body. (Teed’s cosmology didn’t stop there; among his many arguments, he preached that we lived on the inside of a hollow globe—directly above our heads is China, only it’s blocked by the sun.) He also told his followers that he was the living God, and that upon his death he would be the first to translate into this new, utopian form. So when Teed died in December, 1908, the Koreshans put his corpse in a bathtub and waited.

Elon Musk and the Cult of the Celebrity Savior

Musk’s concrete plan remains unclear, though he added that he would organize a weekend in Flint to “add filters to those houses with issues.” The proposal rapidly rang up likes, and replies oozing with admiration, including one Twitter fan who expressed concern that Musk was letting his humanitarian impulses interfere with the work of creating very expensive electric cars. “You’re the most influential person on earth right now and you’re already working on some of the most challenging problems facing mankind. If you don’t stay focused, it will take you longer to achieve,” the fan remonstrated.

Elon Musk’s adoring fans — who flock to his Tweets in the hundreds, laud his successes, and even write erotica about him — typify a deeply American idolization of the wealthy. His direct engagement of fans and foes alike gives him an outsize footprint online, even for a much-lauded Silicon Valley billionaire, and fans have responded in kind. Musk devotees savage his detractors, portraying him as a savior, someone on the verge of changing humanity’s future.

It will be interesting to see how much people are dependent on their addiction to gaining thumbs from strangers on the internet, when other people can't see their score.

With the Social Credit Score becoming mandatory in China in 2020, I don't think these rating systems are going anywhere. Sad to say.

Hopefully this will slow it down long enough people see it for what it is.
