Thank you, AC. I cannot imagine anybody here plans to carry liquor and cartons of cigarets in their BOB, but you have given wise advice in case they do.

How do you see strong drink needed when one needs all one's wits about them?

Hey (OP) I read your reply to my post.

I'll try to be nice, you can keep your thread going as it has and I won't come back.

But if you plan on surviving for any length of time, you are going to need to chill out. You are wound up like a top. I have been in the suck on more than one occasion and I can tell you for certain that those who are wound too tight don't last long, hence a dark sense of humor is almost a requirement in a survival situation.

Make a nice list of vasaline and cotton balls and Alkaline water and I'm sure when the SHFT starts you will do just fine with your nice little shopping list.

Don't worry about the bad dudes who do bad things to people who drink their own urine; because it takes bad men to stop bad men...but I'm sure you have already thought about that, hence your high level of stress.

Maybe this is your Unicorn's and Pink Cloud thread, but it is on a website called GLP and if you found my comment even slightly offensive, then really,,,wake up.

RiffRaff, when you reported posts last night, did you get double greens each time? If so, they received double or triple reds. I'm smiling.

No, only one double green. I wonder if it's because it was the same person both times?

I always enjoy reading reading "Prepper" lists, ideas, articles, etc.,

I skimmed through this post, and more than anything I can sense the state of uncertainty that we feel, because our world is a rather unstable place; but maybe it has always been this way. But with the incredible advancements in technology over the past 50 years, it's just crazy now!

So, here are a few SHTF ideas for those of you who give a damn.

And by-the-way, to the person who wrote the well written post about these being Biblical times and the power is not going out because the anti-christ needs electricity to power the technology to enable the surveillance/enforcement state; and Christians will be hunted...EXACTLY. Well said.

And for those of you who spent way too much time talking about drinking your own piss {tasty} sure...drink your piss, but it's best to drink it while it's warm.

My SHTF Tip for Today....you can thank me later!

1. BINOCULARS -- Get a good used pair of binoculars in 7x50. These will function as the poor man's NIGHT VISION. You'll be amazed at how well you can see into the dark with binoculars. But they need to have a big objective (in this case 50) and medium magnification (in this case 8). The objective lets light in. The magnification will brighten the view. Too much magnification and the image will be shakey, and it will be more difficult to scan an area. And 8x50 is, and has been, very popular for many years. You can find them on that giant internet auction site for less than $20. Use the search term Vintage.

Also, see if you can find a Nikon, but actually any Vintage binoculars made in Japan will most likely be very good. Vintage basically means the 60's, 70's and 80's.

Do you really need binoculars?

Do you like things that go bump in the night?

Did you like going into your Dark Basement as a child, alone...at night?

Do you think criminals (aka BANDITS) prefer to hunt in daylight or night?

Do you really want to spend a minimum of $250 for very basic Generation 1 night vision, but good night vision will cost over $500 and the excellent stuff starts at $1500.

Do you at least have a powerful flashlight with fresh batteries? (Get a Maglite...there's a reason Cops carry them!)

Do you like to look at the stars? 8x50 will light the Milky Way up for you. Very therapeutic for the Soul. {P.S. I don't care if you think we live under a dome.}

Finally, in daylight, the 8x50 is excellent for scanning the the visual boundaries just beyond the naked eye. They are more forgiving to use from a moving vehicle (such as a car, boat, train).

So...You're going to get binoculars. Good. Don't forget to also order a solid, used, baseball bat (even if you have a Colt 45) because...a good game of baseball is America's favorite past time...why else?

-Peace!

Hola bud!

I appreciated the tips...and binoculars have been on my wish list for a while, but looking at the prices put them way on the backburner for me. $20 though, is eminently doable! The bat also is a stellar idea and the height of discretion.

I wrote the biblical times post and the urine post lol...you can NEVER talk to much about urine because of the resistance to it, and as you say, fresh is best lol..not sure about taste, but the sterility starts to recede as it sits, and if you're in that situation, well, you probably need fluid right away anyhow.

Might give ya 2 or 3 more days to extricate yourself or be extricated from whatever horror has befallen you, and that was the point I wanted to get through, as well as the idea that you have to fight against these mental constructs we have in place that could do us in if we can't get free of them.

Anyhow, welcome, and please do share more!

I threw 2 packs of ciggies in my BOB.

Mainly so I'm not trading needed items out of my BOB because I'm desperate for a ciggie.

You can't say you should quit "before hand" because we never know what "it" is going to happen.

Welp, I'm not proud of being addicted to ciggies...but it's the truth.

So rather than risk other preps...I have 2 packs (40 cigs) where I can go as long as possible & then smoke a half of one just so my head doesn't explode.

In that time I will be mentally preparring myself to quit for good (because I'll have to...no choice).

All rain & little wind for me...40 degrees.

I'll bet alot of people are getting water damage today, with all the snow on the roofs and the rain today.

Go for a drive and you can see major ice dams on every 3rd roof.

The salt in the nylon stocking trick really saved my ass this year!

I did another 2 yesterday.

Re: Practical Prepping Protocol even if Poor
For smokers, a suggestion - there are vaping tools - I have two made in Scandavia, brand name Suorin. You might like others better. These are small -in fact one of mine is called the "stealth" model.

If you have gotten a solar-powered something, anything with a USB plug-in, you can recharge these, which only takes a few minutes.

Bottles of liquid come in all sizes, strengths, flavors. This brand uses "salts" which is a liquid, but has less processing than other types.

So bottom line of my point - these will last forever, you have the ability to recharge already, including with your crank radio and other objects, and with an adaptor can charge in your vehicle.

Not necessary to have cigarets except for barter, which is the very best trade as people will be so desperate - you could get almost anything from any smoker with just one cigaret. On the other hand, you have your own nicotine source to keep you happy indefinitely.

Why I still buy cigarets - makes me crazy. I have been smoking so long that I guess I am habituated terribly, and not just to the nicotine. I know from experience my Suorins provide all the nicotine I need, and keep me happy. Wish I would use only those, and save the cigarets for better future use.

Do think about it, smokers. Trying to quit smoking while running for your life and searching desperately for food and water just doesn't make sense. Then you'll be the one trading anything you have for just one cigaret. Bad plan.

Re: Practical Prepping Protocol even if Poor
The entire world just fell apart! The terrible crisis that causes people to go insane has happened!!!

Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat are down and the world has paniced.

That's all it took to have people losing their minds. Interesting, no?

This link will also take you to one where you can download and print your own personal concern and plan to figure out for what you are preparing, and how to go about it.

Have to say that having a printer for the first time ever is an amazing departure from ordinary! It's wireless so we put it in my sewing room, which I preferred, and a few minutes ago I printed the the personal plan from above website. So cool! Thank You, Lord, for many blessings!

Then you'll be the one trading anything you have for just one cigaret. Bad plan.

EXACTLY!

You nailed it!

So plan ahead with an electronic nicotine delivery system for yourself and you will be the winner with your forty tradeable cigarets!

But real ciggies don't require electricity...only a flame :)

Actually the problem with quitting is mental.

You feel the physical withdrawal symptoms and your mind keeps telling you...STOP, GRAB A CIGGIE...it is so powerfull it becomes debilitating.

It is as powerfull as leaving the house & your brain tells you...STOP, YOU LEFT THE STOVE ON...or STOP YOU LEFT THE IRON PLUGGED IN.

You just freeze in your tracks.

Well, I found that an E-cig stops that for some odd reason.

You still have the physical withdrawal symptoms...but not the constant "STOP" driving you insane.

I'm gonna try to quit again here soon & I have my E-cig all ready to try again.

Depending on the amount of nicotine in your liquid, the fact that it stops the craving and the mental alarm is not the least bit surprising. It provides everything you are missing, all the nicotine, minus all the additives in cigarets. I have no plans to stop using mine - no reason, and the nicotine is very relaxing and helpful. I would like to stop the cigarets, but not the vaping.
