This is probably a dumb question and I haven't really followed this that much but why are so many homes built literally at the foot of a volcano? Sometimes you see a few but it's a whole town. So tragic for these people.

Alright. LP04 has about 12CM of deformation. That is near the caldera in the picture below. Amazingly enough, LP03 where the 28cm is happening is NOT listed on this map but it's got to be up north somewhere as 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6 are on the northern part of the island.

Ah, MP….you’re kind of in a no-win situation right now. On the plus side, you already have a pretty good line on who your regular contributors are, who your occasional commenters are, and who your main troublemakers are.

My two cents (worth less than that…it’s YOUR thread, ultimately) is give your regulars a little extra leash, allow for some people to blow off a bit of steam (within reason, of course), and concentrate on booting off the most flagrant of offenders.

As a veteran of the original, MONSTER, Covid thread, the big important serious ones tend to have a life of their own. They may wander and meander a bit, but your regulars will always provide the goods allowing it to remain a ‘big important serious’ thread and valuable source of information.

and keep in mind, we are only seeing one or two of the NINE plus that are open.

LP01 and LP06 on the eastern side of the island are up 4cm since this began.

LPAL has not seen any increase. That's northwest of the caldera.
