I find it strange that Jesus was born on a set date, Dec. 25 but his resurrection happens at different times during easter. Easter coincides with the spring solstice. If Christ was born on a certain day, he should be ressurected on a certain day.

Actually, Christmas was conveniently dropped over a previously existing pegan holiday called Winter Solstice, in which people celebrated the changing of the seasons.

December 21-22 has always been a holiday for any human culture in the Northern Hemisphere because it's roughly the night where the sun is down the longest, ie. the longest night. This made it a good night to celebrate, because it's the turning point in winter where the sun starts to come back.



So... in other words... the Christian religion is merely renting space with a pre-existing holiday.

If you want more Jesus cards, order 'em up or something. I don't get pissed when I can't find cards referencing the fact we've made it over the hump of winter with our lives in tact.
