Who else has no presents for their kids tomorrow?

In my experience kids that age enjoy a giant appliance cardboard box to use as a fort as much as anything. Get a bunch of big boxes for them, some paint, markers, glue, old magazines to cut up, and let them go wild.

My severely disabled daughter with almost no money, made her whole family Christmas presents, uncles, aunts, kids, sisters and brother, mum and dad and step-mum.

My husband lost his job in 2011, and we are struggling to get him through college right now. This May I was diagnosed with cancer and had my uterus removed, but since have had a lot of complications. My husband lost the job he had so he could help take care of the kids while I recovered. We had no money this year. It's hard when children don't understand. They get it, to an extent, but yeah..you don't realise how much things costs. Even to make something from home, the crafting supplies costs money. Cheerios costs money, everything does. Unless you can make your own glue,(We make our own paint, that's fairly easy ..but no idea how to make glue). Luckily my in-laws are amazing and paid for all my kid's christmas gifts this year, but one day I will repay them. I know that sometimes it's hard and people that have never been there don't understand. I did print off coupons for free babysitting for my in-laws that recently had a baby, as well as a full body massage for my husband(and a few other fun coupons). That is free, and for all the "coupons" I printed off for my family, it's all for things that I offer..my time. I hope they'll appreciate it, because it's all I can offer them right now.

I sent a prayer for you and all little children. I meant it too. I remember growing up poor. I cried allot but I learned how to do things for myself, you need too see the blessings in being poor. It really does make you better even if you feel bitter inside.

Your stronger, your more resourceful, and most importantly your human.

I can't imagine a child waking up to nothing. I'm in Kansas City and I collected Toys for Tots that didn't get delivered in time for this year. I planned on just getting even more together for next year. So I still have all the toys. If you're anywhere close you're welcome to come get them.

I'm sorry you're going through such a hard time. This is heart wrenching to read. I'm so sorry for you and your kids. :-(

My wife was able to get a lot of stuff for the three boy's this year. I got hit with some bills before the holidays. She put "from Santa" on everything. So they don't know how ruff things are.

Yeah I've done that, give Santa the credit, otherwise the kids will think that Santa passed them by, and that maybe they were on the naughty list. It's easier to explain that mom and dad are broke this year.

We need a country full of people who are willing to take responsibility for themselves.

We need to hang the criminals in government by the neck until dead as well as the criminals in banks.

When there are some serious repercussions for their illegal actions then they will think harder about it.

We need the communists out of our schools, media and government.

We need a revolution.

my children couldn't give a shit about presents. They understand the reason for the season. They each have a measly 5 presents under the tree and would be grateful for nothing.

Yeah, my parents were not well off, but I remember we were all smothered with presents on xmas morning. But, my mother shopped for xmas all year long.

I woke up to nothing several Christmases. It's OK. Kids know. The hardest part was when neighbors would ask what I got for Christmas and I would say Nothing. They would edge me on and then say how ungrateful I was that I wouldn't tell what I got. My family was cool with being poor but other people did'nt understand. Just love your kids. That's the biggest gift they could ever get.

Bull. All kids look forward to Christmas morning and all it's magic, the grateful and bratty alike. They might understand if you couldn't give them anything at all, but to say they don't care about presents? No way.

Build an indoor fort with sheets and play with them in it. I loved that when I was a kid. I use to sleep in the forts I made with my friends. You can get some board games out and play that with them and make some cookies if you have the ingredients.

These are good tips.
I remember we used to build our own forts in the woods and stuff like these, it was very elaborate stuff.

How about you build it together with your kids, the presents beung the stuff docsquat talks about. Probably have some junk at home you can use for building materials.

Or some neighbours probably have junk they don't need that you can use, or use stuff from the forest.
