Anonymous Coward User ID: 62782546 United Arab Emirates 04/20/2017 11:08 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Put the fires out. One thing that NOBODY ever mentions with an EMP is the fact that many of the electronics burst into flame when they get zapped! PUT THE FIRES OUT FIRST. Holy mother of God! If that happens it would be a fire storm because there will be no fire trucks to contain it. EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE would burn! It would only take one or two structures per block to get a firestorm going & then the entire neighborhood goes up in flames. I guess in that case the only thing you could do is run to find an open field or bridge or hill top where you can breathe. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 62782546 That would have gotten zapped as well. No, it would not. The range of an EMP is no more than 30 miles for the largest nuke. If this is not the case, PLEASE CITE THE GRID OUTAGE THAT HAPPENED AFTER STARFISH PRIME. Oh, America, France, Russia and others have conducted numerous nuclear tests. Hundreds in Nevada alone. Please cite the repairs needed. How about all that damage caused by Kim Jong doing tests IN MODERN TIMES? None that I heard of! Kim Jong's airport is still working! The grid is the grid, nothing changed with it between then and now. Please put your thinking cap on, The Day After was B.S. Stop the EMP hoaxing, if it happens it is because someone false flag flipped a switch. |

Yea, your toilet will flush for a while.....but if you have a septic tank it will work forever as long as you have water to flush it. But if you're on city sewer.......oh boy......big problem there......I've read that raw sewage will eventually come up through the main sewer pipe in your house, unless you cut and cap it. |

They may look like they work for a little while, but the water valves to homes are ELECTRIC so it runs out quickly. The bad news is that people will still use the toilet and it will cause sewage to back up into people's homes. I would pull the toilets and buy OTIS drain plugs for all drains, sinks, toilet flanges, etc. and plug those holes or you, like many people, will be homeless much sooner than anyone thinks because their home smells like massive amounts of rotting, festering feces. This is a major risk to having any reasonable roof over your head so I would prepare for this one. |

Someone said barbed wire at home etc. so would it be better to take what you can on bikes/foot and head for the most rural nearby area? Or fortify home, work with neighbors to make staying in place the best option? Quoting: Evolution16 I would prepare to bug in and stay where you are.
