Went to Target to get a birthday card today...

You guys REALLY need to educate yourselves about this holiday. This holiday belonged to the atheists LONG before the birth of Jesus Christ. In fact, it wasn't even recognized in America as a Christian holiday until the late 1800's and that is because the Catholics hijacked it to get the pagans to convert. Sadly, the pagans converted the believers to THEIR way instead of the opposite.

I agree 100%. I'm not religious either but people should be free to celebrate it without having to be "politically correct". One year our city put up a sign simply saying "Merry Christmas", due to the outcry they had to take it down and put up a "Seasons Greetings" sign the following year, ridiculous!

I know this is not a Target example, but there is plenty of Jesus themed Christmas items in lots of stores, just need to look.

I concur, that God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost should be properly honoured.

I'm not religious. I was raised as a Jehovah's Witness, and taught that celebrating Christmas was blasphemy.

I'm long past all that.

I like Christmas. It is a fun family tradition.

Hell, I am going to put a nativity scene in my front yard and say "Merry Christmas" to everyone for the entire month of December.

I have Muslim friends who don't celebrate xmas, but they still have xmas dinner.

Celebrating, and joining in the festivities, seems like two different things to me.

Even if this xmas is marketed to make money, or personally it is a religious occasion. Or even it's something to you wish to join in on.

It brings families and friends together around one table, i still think religious basis or not, xmas is a great thing.

In this verse it talks about serving false gods under mountains, hills, and in particular, a green tree. If this is not enough evidence that the Christmas tree is not Christian, let us go into detail.

In the book of Jeremiah, chapter 10, verses 1-6. it says, "Hear ye the word which the Lord speaketh unto you, O house of Israel: Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the ways of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of Heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them, for the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the work man, with the axe. Growing up we had Christmas stuff at school, we decorated the tree, shared presents...

Halloween we all dressed up in costumes and had costume competitions..it was fucking awesome on the holidays.

FACT: there are no Christian cards there. Zero. None. Nada.

Don't tell me that somewhere in the back of the store in some seasonal section they've got some cards there.

There is NO EXCUSE for not having any Christ-ian cards for CHRIST-mas in the Christmas Section of their cards!!

I have noticed a significant decrease in the more religious displays of Christmas and I don't care really about that either way.

What I do care about is being told at work we can't say "Merry Christmas" because it offends people.

What fuckin' people are these? It IS Christmas damn it, why should anyone be offended? It never made sense to me, still doesn't. At my work I get written up every few years for refusing to conform to this policy. Particularly the year where I decided to take a random poll where I said "Fuck you" instead of "Merry Christmas" and published the level of offense each phrase initiated from the recipient.
