I am sure they would admit you and you could tell the doctor what you feel about how you want to do this. A good doctor will work with you if you are trying to get off it. ....Yes this will result in a fee, but this is your life and if you do this one right it could be your last time trying through and suffering. Even if you want to leave right away the doctor can prescribe somethings that are correct for the problem. I have a relativethat finally kicked it- there are medicines that really help- some mentioned on this thread, but let the doc prescribe the right dose and all that. You are unique and the goal is to safely detoxify you with minimum discomfort, I would think.... No matter how you do it, my best to you, my highest respects, and prayers!! WalkerTalker2 |

For years after he filled the void left from his Heroin addiction with cocaine. He would tell me that the coke was not nearly as bad as the Heroin and in his mind he was was doing better. In the last year he is completely clean. No rehab nothing he got into a good relationship and quit hanging out with our mutual coke fiend friends. Just make sure you do not substitute something you think is better. I wish you luck, and you can do it! |

Things will get worse around day 4 or 5 and then start getting better. If you give in you start all over. don't go there. and the best way to speed your recovery is not easy but it works. EXERCISE. i don't care if you can barely walk. exercise can speed up recovery up to 30% if not more. it will force your body to learn how to make endorphines much faster than if you were to lay around. exercise as much as possible. I can't stress that enough. good luck and remember, the pain is only temporary. |

It takes two weeks or so to get out of your system. Find other things to do while detoxing like reading or TV. Pacing or chatting on the internet. A hot bath. Have you tried Subutex? It helps. Just a suggestion. Hang in there. It is one day at a time. Just one minute at a time sometimes. I am online most of the time if you need me. Been there. Clean for years now. |

The thing is, opiates make you feel so much better, but the price is too steep and it beats the shit out of you man. You can do it. The hardest part for me was trying to get sleep. Every time I tried to get sleep another ache or hotflas etc would creep in, or being so hot then so cold, plus the emotional torment. That crap chokes out the soul. Bottom line, cut your ties! |

Quoting: AddictedToInfo I was a daily iv user for 4 years at about a half gram a day. Quit cold turkey. Went out to my trailer for a week straight and it wasn't as bad as i had imagined. Had no sleep for a week straight. The worst was the horrible leg pain and a ton of sweating and puking. After about 4 days you'll start feeling better. Load up on fruit and vegetables and water. It'll make you feel worse but you'll recover faster. You can do it bud. Don't exaggerate it more then it is. Of course i don't know how long you've been addicted but please don't resort to benzos unless it's a must. Best of luck PS. you'll be shitting alot from being so constipated. PPS. Ibog works well but you can't use while on it trust me. You'll feel better afterwards if you quit it without any drugs. And don't worry you wont die from detoxing.
