Re: The Hero's Journey
sounds like mathematician when he blows out all the lights at his complex.

when I got my new car a couple years ago every time I got in to start it up the electrical system went awry...i kept taking it back to the dealership and they said they had seen a volvo do this..they said it was stemming from the *brain* of the car.

powerful is the body electric!

here is a hero journey...there is a little girl about 13 on the television with one arm and one leg. She is a basketball player, swimmer, pianist, and student coucil president.

My cat is getting powerful too. She sat on my cable modem (for warmth, kitty yums) and it stopped working. Tried to fix it, there were all kinds of green lights blinking away in there. Next morning it worked fine.

Unfortunately this thread is just not working out. If the likes of ICF, ZIONS FLED, SOL INVICTUS, MATHEMATICIAN, SUNPAR were to have converged and participated here it could've been great. But that is not what happened. We got mostly fizz and fog instead.

Oh well.

Celador-I'm not sure who is supposed to makeup with whom here?!

For my part, I admit I am a bastard, and said so awhile ago. And, I have really only been admonishing myself in my ramblings here. I have always known that.

The only thing I have really said is that intent must be married to action. Very simple. The variaties of how to do that are endless. Physicalized Intent. Create reality. Simple. The reactions to that were not so simple.

I am fine with the discord. To each their own. No one is right or wrong. But if there is no discourse, then there is no discourse. That is simply the way of it.

Asgardh,

Rarely in my life do I encounter brutal SELF-honesty and when I do, I treasure it.

It is so rare and so necessary.

Re: The Hero's Journey
Well, I finished the Song of Ice and Fire saga this morning [George RR Martin's epic feast], and this afternoon my order for SETH:THE EARLY SESSIONS - some nine inches thick, 3000+ pages - arrived from Australia. And it is so very delicious [those who are into Seth will absolutely love this]. Also, I am transitioning from cigarettes to pipe at this time....a nice long LOTR style pipe. I love to smoke, I admit. But cigarettes are cheap and vulgur. Ramtha may be a bigger bastard than I, but he was so right in many things as well....pipes and wine being two of them.

Blessings friends.

p.s. Freyja, I do think you would love that FIRE IN THE HEAD book I mentioned before. You are wild in that Celtic way!

Re: The Hero's Journey
In the Jewish tradition, intention, kavanah, is an essential part of meaningful action. The term kavanah comes from the Hebrew root meaning to direct, intend, focus. The rabbis were very clear that living a meaningful Jewish life involves combining both the actions we do and the intention we bring to those actions. For example, the rabbis stressed that prayer was not just about the act of reading or saying the words of a prayer. If you did not pray with kavanah, actively thinking about the words you were saying, you have not fulfilled your obligation to pray. So too, in the Mishna, there's a wonderful passage about the commandment to hear the shofar blown on Rosh Hashanah. The rabbis ask an interesting question: What if you were outside walking to shul and you heard the shofar being blown and then you realized it was a shofar and not, say, a fog horn? They pose the question: have you fulfilled your obligation to hear the shofar? The answer that they give is an emphatic “No!” In order to fulfill your obligation to hear the shofar, you have to actually intend to hear it before you hear it. That is, meaningful action is not just something that happens haphazardly. Meaningful action is the confluence of a thoughtful decision about what you want to do coupled with the action of doing it.

I think you've been reading something very different in the thread that I have. I haven't seen anyone on the thread mention not appying intention/knowing to creating in life. All I've seen is their application of intent is different than the typical creative outlets.

Who are the tribal natives? And why would they be upset? Are you being sarcastic? If so, that is typically a way to drive people away from you, not build bridges to heal. Then again...maybe you would like others who you don't understand to go away???

Re: The Hero's Journey
9034,

Tribal natives are ones who cling together to feel safe and secure in commonality. tribal natives are concerned only with survival and acceptance by the group. tribal natives are people who live their lives in fear huddled around the campfire afraid of darkness out there and in here.

As far as healing...I have healed myself and that is my contribution to the planet. If every single person would just heal themselves instead of concerning themselves with being a saviour to everyone else that would be an accomplishment that would affect a change so monumental that ALL of life would respond.

9034 have you heard what happens when one person accepts responsibility and heals themself?

9034,

I am leaving for yoga practice but I will find it and post it for you later...pretty amazing stuff!

tribal natives was a way of me speaking about this who are choosing to stay with the old energy....must have been a bad analogy. I will see if I can think of another one.

Have a good yoga session. See ya later!

I think I'm figuring out the tribal natives comment. You were probably speaking of the larger community, not just the people on this thread.

You are indeed right that most of humanity want's to stay with the old ways. They see them as the tried and true, but I don't think they're going to keep "working" much longer. ...not that they ever worked well anyway.
