Speaking of cucumbers... I'm not a big lamb fan but make beef gyro meatballs with tzatziki sauce. Most tzatziki recipes are naturally low carb- just add the veggies and meatballs in a wrap. Plus you can make them ahead. Awesome!!

MEATBALLS:
1 lb ground lamb/beef
1/2 cup minced onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
3 tbsp fresh lemon juice
1/2 tsp fresh lemon zest
1 tbsp dried parsley
1 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 egg, whisked
TZATZIKI SAUCE:
1 cup canned coconut milk
3/4 cup peeled cucumber, finely chopped
2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
2 1/2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
sea salt, to taste
black pepper, to taste

Could you give a quick run down on what you ate daily?
I am at 214 and my doctor wants me in the 185-190 range come October.I never tried Keto.One of my problems is bread and lots sugar in my coffee. Any tips?

Has anyone tried Miracle Rice? Its shiritaki- I don't like noodles as they're too rubbery but in this small texture it's an amazing rice substitute. You rinse it then "fry till dry" which is important. Then adjust to compensate for the liquids in your recipe because they are packed in liquid and traditional rice absorbs it. <1 gm carb and zero cals

They don't freeze tho

this is a typical breaking fast for me, keeps me feeling full sometimes until the next day.

eggs over easy, fried in bacon grease with warmed up bacon bits, melted american cheese on top eggs, avocado and sour cream.

I would like to point out that the Eskimos lived on a high fat diet of mainly meat, fish, and seal blubber, and had no heart disease. The minute modern man introduced them to ciggies and sugar and liquor they became terribly unhealthy. Keto alone is not enough.

Get a carb counter booklet. Eat 60 carbs per day. Say goodbye to 12 pounds quick and 20 pounds soon. Then try not to cheat when you want 2 pieces of bread on sandwich or want sugar. Try wonderful Stevia a good sweetener.

I've been on a Keto diet since October. I also do intermittent fasting: I only eat between 12PM-8PM every day.
I run about a 500 calorie deficit daily and have one refeed day every two weeks to keep leptin levels right.

I was 199lbs in October...170lbs this morning, with increased muscle tone. Keto diet feels much better than diets I've tried before. I'd recommend anyone give it a try.

Lot of bacon, avocado, and water, lol. Also coffee with half and half.

Just want to add that you won't magically lose weight on a Keto diet. You still need to run a calorie deficit to loss weight. A 500 calorie daily deficit will drop a pound a week, which is a healthy rate of weight loss that will give your skin time to adjust.

That said, most people will drop a lot of weight initially just by drinking more water and reducing sodium but that's all water weight not fat.

Finally, for me it was all about reducing body fat, not losing pounds. It's very helpful to get a digital scale that helps track body fat and muscle percentages! I use Yunmai.

Again...good luck getting healthy! It really does feel amazing to get into great shape.

I just started on keto again.

One of my favorite meals is pasta sauce without pasta.

It's basically minced beef with a lot of veggies and tomato sauce but not too much. And I usually add some grated cheese.

Don't know if it's perfect for keto but for me it works.

Also, a tip for the people who have diabetes and want to do keto: there are diabetes medications that allow you to eat more carbs and still remain in keto:

Thank you for the great ideas! Try topping low carb tortilla shells with the lowest carb pizza sauce. Top with your favorite meat and cheese and broil for a few mins great pizzas!

I have a low carb bbq sauce that I use and do a bbq chicken one that's my fave!

yaaasss I love those noodles!

I rinse them for a while trying to get that smell away and then I cut them in pieces with scissors so I don't choke on one of those long rubbery strands going down. I haven't had any in a while. I liked mine with peanut sauce.

They sell them in the walmart produce section and are called pasta zero. there is 2 servings in a bag and not expensive.
