Miggy User ID: 19193750 United States 08/01/2012 02:35 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | OP, I don't think you're crazy at all. I noticed the change in Spring/Summer of 2009. People thought I was nuts like you. And they had all kinds of reasons to explain why the sun was shining in different parts of the yard than it had been at the same time in previous years. I guess unless you experience it yourself you won't believe it. I did experience it and believe it is to blame for this intense heat and newly scorched earth over the past couple of years. BTW, tonight should be a beautiful sunset with full moon. I'm going to go to the lake, pick out a dock on the water and enjoy the show. Love, Miggy |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 18013130 United States 08/01/2012 02:35 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Sorry I meant relative to the POSITION of the earth in our solar system. Had to clarify that. Our subjective view would of course be different (only enough to notice the fact that the sun is setting a few degrees further north). Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18013130 ALL SKY OBJECTS would be displaced, including Polaris, which ANYONE with a camera and tripod can check. "only enough to notice the fact that the sun is setting a few degrees further north." Wrong. ALL SKY OBJECTS would be out of place. They are out of place, they drifted a few degrees north. How is that wrong? You're a shill. |

Quoting: Menow 18943200 You might want to stay away from "WOO" internet sites for a while. It's turning your brain to mush. Funny how you ignored one bit... REPEAT: ... anybody's ability to determine the proper location of Polaris in the night sky(and Earth's tilt) for themselves. You're right, which is why you should make a sun dial and confirm the change for yourself. I have. Here is a rough outline at this website of how the sun is setting (not made by me) [link to www.divulgence.net] Heh... as I recall, that site claims that Earth has changed its axis tilt by MANY degrees. Nice source! How is a sundial supposed to be used to check the location of Polaris? Hey genius, I said it was a rough outline not made by me of where the sun is setting in the night sky. I did not take footage of the sun dial but I confirmed my observations with many others online and even called two shops which specialize in sun dials to ask if they noticed the change, and amazingly they have. 1) The sun does not set in the night sky. 2)divulgence is not a valid source of information. 3) The names of these two shops? |

I did not say it was. I called it a "rough estimated of the angle between sun rise and sun set" Showing nearly a 90 degree angle. 3. Waterbug User ID: 1295673 United States 08/01/2012 02:45 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I asked you first. You answered a question with a question. Very poor form.. 'How can the telescopes continue to be aligned exactly as they were before the shift, as if nothing has happened.. unless.. somebody is fibbing'.. ? Your question contains a logical fallacy. There is no "somebody" who is the sole arbiter of such things. Answer: Nothing has happened. And: You mean unless EVERYBODY IN THE ASTRONOMICAL WORLD is fibbing. Question: Not bloody likely, now is it? Nothing has happened..? The axis shift is acknowledged.. Do you refute that..? You are confused. The question is pretty simple. Leave the 'somebody' part out if it's too hard for you to parse. 'How can the telescopes continue to be aligned exactly as they were before the shift, 'as if' nothing has happened'.. ? |

Quoting: tandym Thank you Tandy. That is a very good way of making people understand what the OP means. There are too many people on here who have noticed it over the past 3-4 years for us all to be wrong. And besides even NASA said our axis was changed by the 2 8.+ EQ's in China and Haiti within that time. Remember when all the compasses were going crazy but people thought GLPers were nuts? It was only AFTER that we found out places like Tampa were moving their airport runways, birds started dropping out of the sky and we were told the earth had tilted "slightly". Well, slightly obviously was enough to cause the sunbeams to cause drought and scorch us all to death. |
