Quoting: jwh125 It seems a bit odd after such a large quake, but there is still plenty of time to see some aftershocks. Hopefully this isn't a bad sign. There was the 5.5, but that was further than 50 miles away from the big one. I just looked it up - after the 2016 quake there were two 6.1s and one 6.0 in the week following. Plus tons of 4's and some 5's. |

Is there a site which lists historical data on quakes in like a 5 mile radius of any particular area. Quoting: jwh125 I don't know of a site where you can search by those means (EQs within a certain radius), but you can do a search on USGS and EMSC (better) for specific date ranges and locations, and from that list you can look at the maps and/or coordinates to figure out the exact location. EMSC goes back to 2006, I think. USGS simply doesn't capture most of the quakes, so that's the problem with that one. I'm sure there's other options that I'm not aware of. A guy we called AC Finland used to come here with some predictions and he was great at doing searches and pulling up old quakes and correlations. I don't know where he got all his info from, because he'd go back many years sometimes. I miss ol' Finland, he was great and often spot-on. |
