Why does the preacher NEVER touch on this. EVER. Go read it for yourself it will only take a few minutes and you will be amazed. There are two completely different creation stories. I do not think anyone has ever posted on this contradiction. Which story is right or are they both lies. If the Bible is a LIE from the first few words at the get-go in Genesis, can you accept anything at all coming after? Please, do me a big favor and go read the first two chapters and tell me what you think. I would appreciate it. We are discussing literature here. Hebrew writing translated into greek then latin and then into english. It is two different stories of creation. In literature, we have what are called characters. In the first account, the hebrew elohim or Gods created everything. There had to be more than one to be Gods...could have been two or two million, it does not say. They do not even get names. They create everything, it is good and they bless it all including the human male and female and rest. Am I correct thus far? |

The Hebrew word 'Elohim' is both singular and plural, referring to the Godhead of the Father and Jesus Christ. I see people saying that Jesus created everyone and that God created the Universe. So in Genesis when it says the sons of God married the daughters of man it is not referring to the sons of God but the sons of Jesus which would be the grandsons of God right? So why do they call them the sons of God and not the sons of Jesus? Why does Genesis not name names and call the singular God that created man Jesus? It takes a lot of time to give a very precise lineage of the children of Adam. If the children of Adam are important enough to be named why not the son of God? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1018225 And I need to add at no time in the old testament does it ever use the name Jesus. Think about it. |

Next, starting at Genesis 2:4, along comes a totally new character called the Lord God (Adonai Elohim in hebrew). Notice that this one has the Elohim family name but calls himself Lord. This is most interesting. Now, the Lord God starts a whole new creation of dust man and rib woman. He has set up a garden, also, with another character, the evil tree of Death. Had not all the trees be created already and were good and blessed? Had not male and female already been created? Obviously, one of the stories is a LIE. They cannot both be true. |

Just because you THINK there is a contradiction or do not understand something does not mean there is a problem with the text maybe the problem is with you, after all do you know everything? Those who would rather NOT believe the bible don't hesitate to turn against it when they think they have found such dilemmas. Been there done that and now know better... In the end people will believe what they WANT to believe GET SAVED: Thread: Are you SAVED from DAMNATION? "For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another." -- Galatians 5:14-26 |
