Re: There REALLY IS something strange in western sky around sunset...!!!
I found it! I was out tonight and saw a couple of objects near sunset. Does this look like what everyone is seeing?

I didn't want to believe it, but seeing is believing.

Can anyone else confirm the object looks the same as the one their seeing?

Now that several people have confirmed the object in my photos look the same as the object in question, it's time to show the close-up photos.

I took the above photos with my point and shoot camera. Immediately afterwards, I pointed my telescope (with Canon 40D attached) [link to i.imgur.com] at the same objects to get a close-up view, and guess what I saw:

Nice try. I used the word "similiar", not "same". There is a difference. And how do we know those are closeups of the same thing shown earlier?

Try taking a pic similiar to what we are seeing, and with that still in the camera frame, zoom in right then.

I was out 1 hour before sunset until about 30 minutes after sunset. I took pics of anything I saw. If the object was there, I would have seen it and posted it here. I'd love to discover an unknown object. What I posted does look like what others are seeing....until you zoom in with a telescope and see it's just a jet/contrail.

O....... M....... G..... you too? NO!!! I can totally believe it.

1st of all, please tell me i am not the only person who has been following this thread and saw these pictures and immediately noticed the contrail. I seriously did not feel like posting to explain that those images are clearly not what some people have seen during the sunset.

i get home from work and i'm so excited to get on glp and see whats poppin, i am surprised by the childish shit taking place, but whatever, i'm still enjoying the ride, i guess.

i dont have a smart phone, but i can check glp from my phone, so i have been doing that recently as i travel, then, boom, banned for no reason, i dont get it i was just browsing not commenting haha.

anyways, if you read this thread from page 1 to my comment now, you would completely understand why i'm saying this, .... as i did in my previous post, .... "wow"

We (as in GLP) are not the only ones seeing this thing. I was on FB reading various posts over the last couple of days and many people are randomly asking if anyone else has seen the object in the sky low on the horizon at sunset. They mention it is by the sun real low and does not stay long. They have no clue what it is, but are mentioning it because it apparently must of made an impact on them in some way. These are not GLP people I don't believe, and are on various posts that are not discussing space/sky issues. It kind of shocked me when I came across them. Anyway, just thought I would mention that others are questioning it also.

Yes the pics are of the same object. Check the EXIF data. They were taken just seconds apart. I can't zoom out with the dslr attached to the telescope. It effectively becomes a 2350mm lens attached to my camera.

I find your comments very interesting particularly in light of all the reports from Australia last year. It does seem like some object was being seen in the Southern Hemisphere for at least a year and now an object is being seen in the Northern Hemisphere. One wonders if a comparison and trajectory might be made if we can find those videos from Down Under....

This one shows a contrail then something else

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 48037837

This is what I saw in the W/SW sky a few months ago here in Michigan. Not the contrails from the planes but the other winged or v shaped thing that everyone in this thread is talking about. Sometimes its S or snake shaped as well.

I went out this evening about 6:50pm and started to head out to look for this object again because of this thread. I headed West, the sun had just gone beneath the horizon. As I looked SW I saw 7 planes with contrails heading in all different directions. 3 were heading South, 2 were heading East, 2 North. I was surprised at how many planes where in the sky and they look very similar to the object in question. Finally, I saw what I had seen a few months back, low on the horizon more west than SW very low.

IMHO the planes were flying as a distraction. They came out at the same time the object was visible. Which wasn't for very long, less than 10 minutes. The planes obviously could only stay in that part of the SW/W sky for long as they were moving. The object in question however was stationary, setting like the sun would. To the untrained person who just happened to look tonight would see nothing but planes with contrails. Just wanted to share my experience with you all, btw to all the shills, you know who you are, people have done a great job of pointing your pathetic asses out.

Unfortunately, this object is real, whatever it is. I have read this whole thread from page 1 and its not Venus, a plane contrail, Mercury/Saturn, falling satellite, space debris, or some other star.

Lastly, Astromut once people disagree with your pathetic excuse for an explanation you result to insults. Shows everyone reading this thread exactly what you are. Shame on you, sir, shame on you. What goes around, comes around. Remember that.

Re: There REALLY IS something strange in western sky around sunset...!!!
and here is another thing to consider, since we are all in the realm of the Unknown, here - espressing a Universal perspective of our circumstances ... what if, focusing collectively - on the Universe is punching a hole though our dimensional barrier - if we all (or even a critical mass) would focus on it - maybe the grid/matrix that suppresses us will catch on fire too - and let space-ship Earth - take off and soar through the Galaxies proclaiming INDEPENDENCE

Any of you who have actually seen this object in the Western sky, have you looked at this video from Australia from awhile back? Does this look like what you were seeing?

Thats exactly what I have been seeing. The short contrail pics are not what I have been looking at. This is it!!!

Great.. so now if some others could chime in, just to verify that this is similar to what they have been seeing.

Visible in the Southern hemisphere and now visible in the Northern hemisphere... as it rises about the ecliptic.
Are we there yet?

Re: There REALLY IS something strange in western sky around sunset...!!!

The "mutt" will just create any number of additional user names on this site, or try to post anonymously without realizing his user ID shows up as a doctor of nothing under search.

What a tool.

I believe you, but hell... I've seen this thing also.

I'm not mentioning him by name on purpose... remember, we should be ignoring him. He's on time out.

Hi 5190, I understand what you are saying but I am not sure how that relates to my post. When I said FB I meant on Facebook which does not have anything to do with GLP or the mutt. I was saying that other people outside of GLP are talking about seeing something low in the sky at sunset. I just thought it was interesting that more than just "us" here are seeing this in the sky.

I agree with what you said however. Thank you!

I apologize for not being clear at all!

What I'm saying is that it doesn't matter how many people we find who see this, or what we do, he will shill until his fingers fall off.

I'm convinced he's not even human.

He's a computer program...

Agreed!!! Except he must be a computer program with a Narcissistic Personality Disorder because he not only has to be right, he feels the need to taunt and bully anyone opposing him; hence, his pinned parody thread.
