Something Just Went BEZERK in the Gulf of Mexico. The US Navy just sunk a French Submarine | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1022208 Greece 07/03/2010 12:31 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Madsen says: 'Plans are being put in place for the mandatory evacuation of New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Mandeville, Hammond, Houma, Belle Chase, Chalmette, Slidell, Biloxi, Gulfport, Pensacola, Hattiesburg, Mobile, Bay Minette, Fort Walton Beach, Panama City, Crestview, and Pascagoula.' Imagine evacuating that many people and maybe more of the tens of millions of people who live on or within 200 miles of the Gulf coast, but then that would be just the scale of disaster and compulsion that would allow FEMA, a major asset of the Control System to impose its long-planned martial law on enormous numbers of people. FEMA and the military have been preparing for this for years with exercises for just such a situation involving oil pollution, but all records of this were expunged from FEMA-related websites in the weeks before the Deepwater Horizon explosion. |

And were transported to medical facilities, within 4 hours, all mention of that story were scrubbed. Maybe you can find the cached version? That's when I knew it was bad. Quoting: TheWatcherI'll look. Regarding the OP's mention of the Mistral, last reference I can find of her operational deployment is from [link to jdb.marine.defense.gouv.fr] and it appears she was due to participate in patrols with the Togolese navy. So she was last seen in West Africa on the 21st of June. It is about 9845km from Togo to Cuba, Mistral can travel about 33km/h so 12 days to travel that distance. This means she probably couldn't be in the Gulf of Mexico as the OP suggests. |

She may have a different name completely. Quoting: childoflight 505529Yes there are 2 ships commissioned, and a third to be launched this year. I was just ruling out the Mistral itself, Tonnerre is assisting anti pirate missions off Somalia, so it is unlikely she is there. The Mistral could still conceivably be in the Gulf, there is no up to date deployment info (obviously). For TheWatcher, wikipedia has info on casualties so far in Gulf: On June 15 Marylee Orr, Executive Director for Louisiana Environmental Action Network (LEAN), said on MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Olbermann that people along the Gulf Coast are getting very sick, with symptoms of dizziness, vomiting, nausea, headaches, and chest pains, not only from the first responders to the crisis, but residents living along the coast as well. LEAN's director reported that BP has threatened to fire their workers if they use respirators distributed by LEAN, though health and safety officials have not required their use, as they may exacerbate risks of heat exhaustion. By June 21, 143 oil spill exposure-related cases had been reported to the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH) since the crisis began; 108 of those cases involved workers in the oil spill clean-up efforts, while thirty-five were reported by the general public. |
