Prayers for Japan!!! stay safe, brothers and sisters!!

As Hurricane Ophelia fades from headlines, now all sharp weather eyes are turning to Typhoon Lan in the western Pacific Ocean.

The storm is currently churning to the east of the Philippines, slowly moving over some of the warmest waters on Earth. Computer models show that warm water, plus low atmospheric wind shear and other favorable conditions may allow the storm to rapidly intensify during the next 48 hours, potentially bringing Typhoon Lan to Category 4 or 5 super typhoon status by the end of the week.

Typhoon Lan will initially move to the north-northwest, and eventually to the northwest for a time, before being steered more to the northeast, on course for a potential landfall or significant swipe at the coast of Japan.

Re: Something Just Went BEZERK in the Gulf of Mexico. The US Navy just sunk a French Submarine
article this week!!!

"There are now five different lines of observational evidence pointing to the existence of Planet Nine," Konstantin Batygin, a planetary astrophysicist at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in Pasadena, said in the statement. "If you were to remove this explanation and imagine Planet Nine does not exist, then you generate more problems than you solve. All of a sudden, you have five different puzzles, and you must come up with five different theories to explain them." [The Evidence for 'Planet Nine' in Our Solar System (Gallery)]

Planet Nine's influence might have tilted the planets
In 2016, Batygin and co-author Mike Brown, an astronomer at Caltech, published a study that examined the elliptical orbits of six known objects in the Kuiper Belt, a distant region of icy bodies stretching from Neptune outward toward interstellar space. Their findings revealed that all of those Kuiper Belt objects have elliptical orbits that point in the same direction and are tilted about 30 degrees "downward" compared to the plane in which the eight official planets circle the sun, according to the statement.

Re: Something Just Went BEZERK in the Gulf of Mexico. The US Navy just sunk a French Submarine
Batygin and Caltech astronomer Mike Brown wrote a paper in the Astronomical Journal in 2016 illustrating three of the five pieces of evidence positing the ninth planet’s existence. Much of it comes down to gravitational effects on the other objects in the solar system.

Here are the five things:

One: Beyond Neptune and before interstellar space have been found so far six objects, known as Kuiper Belt Objects, that all have the same eliptical orbit around the sun.

Two: Those objects’ orbits are roughly 30 degrees off the orbital plane of the eight planets from Mercury to Neptune.

Three: Computer simulations that included the hypothetical ninth planet suggested that there should be more distant objects in space that are off the plane of the planets, as much as 90 degree off the plane, and five known objects in space already fall within that parameter.

Four: The plane of the eight planets from Mercury to Neptune is also tilted, about 6 degrees from the sun’s equator. A second article from Batygin's graduate student, Elizabeth Bailey, suggests this tilt could have been caused by “Planet Nine” over the last 4.5 billion years.

Five: There are distant objects in the Kuiper Belt that orbit the sun in an opposite direction than the planets. The orbital influence of a ninth planet would explain this, meaning the ninth planet that could be 20 times farther away from the sun as Neptune, caused these contrarian orbiting objects to fall out of a planar orbit, but then pulled back into a new orbit by Neptune.

"No other model can explain the weirdness of these high-inclination orbits," Batygin said. "It turns out that Planet Nine provides a natural avenue for their generation. These things have been twisted out of the solar system plane with help from Planet Nine and then scattered inward by Neptune."

Thread: Apollo 15 Astronaut Al Worden - "Go Get Books on the Ancient Sumerians"

Al Worden, when discussing the possibility of extraterrestrial life on other planets, said "we are ETs ourselves".

"That's how I believe our civilization started. An ET got into a little space craft, came to Earth and created us. If you don't believe me, go get books on the ancient Sumerians and see what they had to say about it."

Fantastic to see a former astronaut admitting that our civilization was likely created by ETs (the Anunnaki). Although his reasoning "they had to survive" isn't what's said in the Sumerian texts, you have to red pill the masses slowly.

i think at 4% saturation things will begin to happen exponentially,
4% is the turning point

Thanks, I have no clue, but really been bothering me.

I remember reading this weekend, that the well was putting out over 40% methane? Between what is flared and what is captured, is the ratio? They also mentioned this was super high for a well.

Published: October 20, 2017

12:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, Japan time: Here’s the current updated Tropical Cyclone Condition of Readiness scoreboard. Expect these numbers to upgrade as Typhoon Lan gets closer; these could change depending on Lan’s track and wind field:

Okinawa: TCCOR 1. Expect TCCOR 1-C by 3 a.m. local time, TCCOR 1-E by 9 p.m. Saturday. Lan is forecast to pass 263 miles southeast of Kadena Air Base at 11 p.m. Saturday, at which time peak winds of 58-mph sustained and 69-mph gusts are anticipated.

Sasebo Naval Base: No TCCORs expected to be declared at this time. Lan is due to pass 330 miles southeast at 6 p.m. Sunday.

Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni: TCCOR Storm Watch; could be upgraded, since Iwakuni is currently forecast to be just inside Lan’s 50-knot (58-mph) wind bands. Lan is due to pass 246 miles southeast at 10 p.m. Sunday.

Typhoon Lan is forecast to grow into a monster storm south of Japan before it weakens on its approach to the island nation next week. It comes on the heels of Ophelia, which brought gale-force winds to southern Ireland Monday, Maria, which devastated Puerto Rico, and Irma, Harvey and Nate, which struck the U.S. Gulf Coast or Florida. That’s not to mention two hurricanes that recently struck Mexico.

Interesting that Trump, and his administration have been quietly coercing 'ex' generals and high ranking officers back into military service.

As far as secrets go, an order from a sitting president can zip those lips shut tight.

And, as so many resigned, were ousted, and went into voluntary retirement over the past decade amidst some interesting circumstances... only another sitting president can 'unzip those lips'.

Wondering if, aside from the usual suspects, (Benghazi, Clinton corruption etc) if our little story might be one he (trump) is keen on understanding more?

He recently ordered the Kennedy paperwork to be relatively declassified, and it is hitting the interwebs.

‘The Big Dark’: Series Of Storms Stretching From China To U.S. Batters Northwest
NOAA has described the phenomenon as a “river in the sky.”

[link to www.seattletimes.com (secure)]

[link to www.seattletimes.com (secure)]

A fascinating weather pattern is in place in the Northern Hemisphere this week. It’s a river in the sky that spans the full width of the Pacific Ocean from Asia to North America. The phenomenon is remarkably obvious — a plume of clouds with a few areas of low pressure embedded, transported at shocking speeds across the planet’s largest ocean via the jet stream.

Plainly spoken, it’s a train of rain on its way to Washington State.

Over the coming days, this so-called ‘atmospheric river’ will unload tremendous amounts of rain and snow over the Pacific Northwest. The series of storms will spray out the equivalent of 10 to 15 inches of rain at high elevations and up to several inches near the coast, including over Seattle and Portland. On the high peaks of the Cascades, heavy snows — measured in feet — are predicted.

Wednesday will likely be Seattle’s wettest 24 hours since February, the National Weather Service said. More than an inch of rain is in the forecast through early Thursday morning. The record for Oct. 18, at Seattle-Tacoma International is 1.19 inches in 1958.

welcome

hi everyone!! for all visitors, participants, newcomers, etc etc: the purpose of this thread IMHO is to document various anomalous natural phenomena, various changes to the natural order, various human advances that might affect the natural phenomena, and all and sundry phenomena which might affect the world we live in.

I know that sounds kind of broad as a topical scope; that it is intended. one of the reasons I like this thread is that is one of the few long-standing threads at GLP that tracks major phenomena, but also provides for ongoing discussion.

many major threads do discuss issues, but not specific natural phenomena. I feel this thread does have a rather useful role. please feel free to comment, discuss, offer items, etc etc. thanks!

and by the way, of course we do discus issues and societal developments here as well. thanks!!

welcome
