People that survived the one last week and had a chance of being rescued have probably died now. All of the headway made toward getting aid to people is hampered. Why don't you just shut the fuck up and have a little humanity, a little concern for the children, the women, the elderly and the men of Haiti instead of defending Nancy and her hoax. A chain saw, chisel, sledge, boltcutters and a come-along will enable anyone to retrieve their "stuff" in just a few hours - not to mention assist MIGHTILY with rescue efforts. How many people have come-alongs?

If you live in a high rise, then you've got issues I can't help you with. No one forced you to put yourself in harms way. My truck is parked outside - and has a winch. I have a skid-steer with a back-hoe. I live in a rural community surrounded by rugged do-it-yourself farmers who know how to improvise practically anything. Assuming I'm lucky enough not to be horrifically injured, I won't be standing around sobbing and wondering when the "guvment" or Red Cross will come and "save me".

They simply knew it could happen. They didn't know when. But according to you and Luser...Nancy and the "Zetas" knew exactly when it would happen but they did nothing.

I've never been in an earthquake. I did manage without power or water or roads for a week during an ice storm, and without power for several weeks thereafter.

But I was lucky enough to have an undamaged home full of tools and supplies to get me by. And grandparents only a five mile hike away who still cooked on wood stoves.

I can't imagine what the Haitians are going through. Must be true Hell on Earth.

Yupp ... and even if one may be well prepaired, like having stocked food and water, having a tent ready and stuff <- someone who lives that well equipped in the aftermath of a Haiti style event will be looted by his fellow humans in no time.
