Anonymous Coward User ID: 73636052 United States 07/26/2020 04:20 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I’ve been cutting my own hair for years. I see no point, as an adult, to rely on another for grooming. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 74021864 But I’d like to think that even if I did rely on those services, that I wouldn’t suffer great anxiety when deprived of them. But rather feel sympathy for the people who provide those services, not being able to feed their families. I just had my mom do it for the last 2 decades..and now I let my partner do it. My hair is fine and cutting a straight line across my back takes less than 30 seconds. Lack of compassion has been one of the harder aspects of this for me to stomach. I knew people were selfish, I knew people were dumb, I knew people were opportunists, but I didn't know to what caliber and that I would see it everywhere. Horrible to watch. I don't enjoy Interwebs any longer. It is all the same topic with monkeys on either side throwing feces. A trim is all it really needs. I recently saw an article about a short film called Chaetophobia, created by a hair stylist named Claire Moore. It’s visually very uncomfortable. Shows hair styled and coifed on parts of the body it typically wouldn’t be. But it’s meant to make people question their attachment to hair. “People have so much emotion attached to their hair and think of it as a major part of their identity but, in reality, hair is just dead skin cells.” - Claire Moore Yes, this epidemic sure has shone an unforgiving florescent spotlight, on humanity. I cut off about 6-8 inches every year. Once it reaches my lower back I cut it along my bra strap. Then let it grow for the year. Sounds disturbing. Like a John Waters movie. I got 10 minutes into Pink Flamingo before shutting it off in horror and I'm still disturbed. Cringy is not appealing. It's gross. It was when my hair was falling out in clumps I realized I had taken my 'fasting' too far. My hair has never been the same. Unforgiving spotlight on America. Everyone else is pulling their weight. The short film is not evenly remotely close to a Waters film. I wasn’t able to make it through Pink Flamingo either. I’m not a fan of gratuitous anything. I did watch some horror movies as a teenager, but once the torture porn craze (like Hostel) started, I stopped watching them all together. |

Like compound interest. Compound interest is the addition of interest to the principal sum of a loan or deposit, or in other words, interest on interest. It is the result of reinvesting interest, rather than paying it out, so that interest in the next period is then earned on the principal sum plus previously accumulated interest. The irony is thick.
