Seer777 (OP) Ride the wings of the mind User ID: 79717075 United States 12/07/2020 04:29 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | ... Quoting: Seer777 I like, Taveren. Makes sense of things. And why I 'see it' like 'wrenching the wheel' back from Chaos. That is my purpose. Thought this was interesting. Saidar Saidar (pronounced: sah-ih-DAHR) is the female half of the One Power. Unlike the more violent saidin, saidar is said to be a "river of Power" which must be surrendered to or "embraced" in order to gain control. Female channelers can tell when other women are touching the Source; a white glowing aura appears around their body, only visible to those trained to touch saidar. The ability can also be sensed in any woman capable of channeling, be they wilders or Aes Sedai. In the testing to see if you can channel, a woman channels a simple weave and waits. Within five minutes if a woman has the spark, the woman tries to channel the flow, and the test is confirmed. It takes longer for those who only can learn. However, a woman who has the spark can be detected by another female channeler without being tested. Saidar is described as gentle, but infinitely powerful; a force which will do what you wish it to, but requires patience and submission to properly channel it. Surrender is necessary to gain it, and women universally speak of it as "embracing" the Power. Weaving for a female channeler is described as "guiding" the Power to perform the desired task. By contrast Saidin is often described as a "raging torrent" that must be "seized" and controlled in order to force it to submit. Because of this fundamental difference in channeling the Power, a man can never teach a woman to channel, and vice versa. [link to wot.wikia.com] A woman repeatedly channeling saidar over a longer time starts to "slow," meaning that she does not age in the same way as a woman without the ability. This also gives the woman a longer life and some have been known to live over four hundred years. If anyone not wearing one can remove it, why did she have to wait for a Ta'veren to do it? Quoting: Seer777 She didn't. Anyone could have. I regret the fact that almost every friendship I formed until I left college is at best strained, and most damaged beyond repair because they were rooted in religion. I regret the fact that I internalized the doctrines of original sin and total depravity to an emotionally crippling degree. I regret the severe damage that religious guilt did to my marriage, to the point that 12 years later the relationship has not fully recovered. I regret that religion was such a part of my life, that my relationships with my family are strained now that I no longer believe. I posted it because it adds more leverage to my the theory that the churches are being set up and doing it to themselves..by and through the greater public perceiving them, as radicals. It has been intimated on GLP many times over the years, that the Christians would be forced into FEMA camps as the religion falls out of practice in this country, due our youth not embracing it as it was in the past. Christians that call people evil that believe a little different, and tell them they will burn in Hell because they were born or live in a state that is considered 'blue'..is not winning them any friends. Much the opposite. With that said, I believe most Christians, like most Islamic people, are not radicalized. But you know what they say about 1 bad apple..
