Eleven = Elf in the modern German, aelf in the Old English comes from Germanic, however Alp, meaning nightmare comes from more modern German. "Alptraum" (modern) is nightmare/incubus and apparently is related to the modern "Elf" as well, this might be one of those cases where context is important.
