Some people have it. Some people have a lot of it. Some can crush you into unconsciousness while others feel light and like floating..and everything between.

Holy cow..what's that now?

been considering yours and k's lack of sexual appetite, i recall your episode of starvation. i think you related your experience as concern for k's anorexics episode. both of you have indicated a lack of interest in sex. do you believe that anorexic episodes, can lead to the disruption of one's sex drive? lol

I think it was the Prozac I took when I was 18 and 19. It did something to my brain where I no longer desired sex whatsoever and found it mildly repulsive. I stopped taking it and never took another form of anti-depresant or anxiety meds.

Physical sex to this day still carries that same sense of repulsion for me. I don't think I ever enjoyed it.

Rub the inside of your cheek with your finger. That is the same tissue as inside the vagina. Scratch it with your fingernail. Push it out with your tongue..notice how little sensation there is?

Sexual energy is different and far superior.. The trick is to, not. get. stuck.

I see ego as the the story you tell yourself, about yourself.

Less as your beliefs, being those are constantly morphing and changing over time.

I think that is what happens when dissociating.

If you 'have no story'..you have nothing to base 'self' on..so one ends up like staring off into space or even going catatonic. Blank slate.

Been there. It's not fun or recommended.

It's pretty horrible actually. I don't really like to think about it.

Lab-grown black hole behaves just like Stephen Hawking said it would

In 1974, Stephen Hawking theorized that the universe's darkest gravitational behemoths, black holes, were not the pitch-black star swallowers astronomers imagined, but they spontaneously emitted light — a phenomenon now dubbed Hawking radiation.

Researchers at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology did just that. They created a black hole analog out of a few thousand atoms. They were trying to confirm two of Hawking's most important predictions, that Hawking radiation arises from nothing and that it does not change in intensity over time, meaning it's stationary.

"A black hole is supposed to radiate like a black body, which is essentially a warm object that emits a constant infrared radiation," study co-author Jeff Steinhauer, an associate professor of physics at Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, said in a statement. "Hawking suggested that black holes are just like regular stars, which radiate a certain type of radiation all the time, constantly. That's what we wanted to confirm in our study, and we did."

Thread: Lab-grown black hole analog behaves just like Stephen Hawking said it would

Sigh... this thread is like monkeys trying to talk about quantum mechanics.

Hawking Radiation originates from the virtual particle pairs generated right at the event horizon. Usually these pairs are generated all the time and everywhere, but they exist only for the Planck-time before they self-annihilate. They exist for such a short time (and on "borrowed energy") that they don't really exist in a causal way. That's why they are virtual particles.

However, at the event horizon, one of the particles may fall into the black hole, which leaves its pair outside the black hole as a real particle. It may annihilate with a nearby anti-particle or produce radiation as it orbits the black hole at relativistic speed. That is Hawking Radiation.

Hawking Radiation is in the infrared spectrum, because the original gamma/x-rays become red-shifted by the immense gravity of the black hole.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80109379

Whoa!

I wonder if that means my pair particle is inside a black hole. hmm

Memory Hole

A memory hole is any mechanism for the alteration or disappearance of inconvenient or embarrassing documents, photographs, transcripts or other records, such as from a website or other archive, particularly as part of an attempt to give the impression that something never happened.

The concept was first popularized by George Orwell's dystopian novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, where the Party's Ministry of Truth systematically re-created all potentially embarrassing historical documents, in effect, re-writing all of history to match the often-changing state propaganda. These changes were complete and undetectable.

interesting visual, considering that it would still be possible to piece together and re-construct the data the platter holds given enough patience and dedication towards the task

were a strong enough magnetic field brought into the vicinity of it, though, the case would be distinctly different

all of the bits would be shifted to be either 0s or 1s depending on the polarity of the applied field, wherein one segment of the data would remain the same, while the remainder would be changed - hence, nothing is erased, it's just the arbitrary change enforced upon one segment makes the correlations of patterns that equate to data scrambled into what can only be construed as indiscernible noise

so much software sold to write and write and re-write bits to mask what residual magnetism (memory) might be re-traced when it's much simpler to, say, put it under a subwoofer for a while...

considering the biological equivalent argued to be the sequences of molecules encoded in dna, it makes one wonder who wrote it in - the almost uncontrollable urge to write and write and re-write over and over again. is it to survive or is it to erase what made us able to survive?

Great post. Who would take the time to resurrect another?

I was thinking in terms of 1..people being deleted. 2..shattering like pottery 3..Memory 4..Memory hole 5..Iris 6 pupil.

The Hole.

People being deleted, like those whom will be considered undesirable to the coming order. Essentially..digitally disappeared. This is already happening.

In the future I see it in terms like the Altered Carbon series. Where an implant is placed in the back of the neck to record a persons memories.

The only way someone finds 'true death' is if their stack is destroyed. Thus destroying their memories.

Erasing them

I wrote that on multi-day prompting from Davy. He said poetry was part of the journeys..

I don't really like poetry..

I wrote that about how I experienced the energy at the time..

I could feel it running around inside me. Try to imagine what it might feel like to have energies fight inside you..

Just like I wrote back then.

Is what it is.
