Russian forces surrounded and seized the Chernobyl nuclear power plant last month on the first day of their invasion of Ukraine, and have since refused to let some 210 staff members leave the site. 'The Director General indicated that remote data transmission from safeguards monitoring systems installed at the Chernobyl NPP had been lost,' the International Atomic Energy Agency said in a statement today. I post links to it at least a couple times a year. People should know that all it took was a frozen fudge bar, to completely alter his belief system.. Quoting: Seer777 In 1989, wanting to see how the American’s lived, Boris Yeltsin made an unscheduled visit to Randall’s supermarket in Houston. A year or so later, a biographer wrote that on the plane ride from Texas to Florida, Yelstin couldn’t get the vision of the endless food supply out of his mind, and lamented how different things were for his own countrymen. According to wikipedia, Leon Aron, quoting a Yeltsin associate, wrote in his biography, “Yeltsin, A Revolutionary Life” (St. Martin’s Press, 2000): “For a long time, on the plane to Miami, he sat motionless, his head in his hands. ‘What have they done to our poor people?’ he said after a long silence.” He added, “On his return to Moscow, Yeltsin would confess the pain he had felt after the Houston excursion: the ‘pain for all of us, for our country so rich, so talented and so exhausted by incessant experiments.’” He wrote that Mr. Yeltsin added, “I think we have committed a crime against our people by making their standard of living so incomparably lower than that of the Americans.” And then, in his own autobiography, Yeltsin wrote about the experience at the grocery store himself, which reshaped his entire view on communism, ultimately leading to his leaving the Communist party. “When I saw those shelves crammed with hundreds, thousands of cans, cartons and goods of every possible sort, for the first time I felt quite frankly sick with despair for the Soviet people,” Yeltsin wrote. “That such a potentially super-rich country as ours has been brought to a state of such poverty! Seer777 (OP) Ride the wings of the mind User ID: 79836353 United States 03/09/2022 12:17 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Investigation Reveals Link Between Violent Crime and Lead Exposure An eye-opening investigative report by Mother Jones shows there’s a compelling link between lead in the environment – mostly emissions from automobiles – and violent crime trends in America. Data gathered in cities both large and small, not just in the US but also in Australia, Canada, the UK, Finland, France, Italy, New Zealand and West Germany, shows the same trend: crime rates track closely with gasoline lead emissions … after a 20-year lag. Crime rates quadrupled from the 1940s through the 1970s, and then plummeted after the introduction of unleaded gasoline. "Like many good theories, the gasoline lead hypothesis helps explain some things we might not have realized even needed explaining. For example, murder rates have always been higher in big cities than in towns and small cities. But as lead levels in gasoline decreased, the differences between big and small cities largely went away. And guess what? The difference in murder rates went away too. Today, homicide rates are similar in cities of all sizes. It may be that violent crime isn’t an inevitable consequence of being a big city after all," notes Mother Jones journalist Kevin Drum. Recent neurological studies lend additional credibility to these conclusions. Lead exposure even at low levels during childhood can seriously reduce IQ levels – permanently. These concentrations can cause physical damage to the brain, affecting the ability to control emotions or impulses, reducing attention spans and impairing verbal reasoning. Many of these characteristics fit the classic profile of a violent young offender. [link to www.sustainablebusiness.com (secure)] Difficulties strengthen the Mind as labor does the body... ~Seneca |
