The ones you need to convince are those of childbearing age that aren't having kids. Quoting: Seer777 Technology, Covid, cost of living, gross politics, rumors of war, school shootings, and internet porn hasn't helped the fertility rates. The current fertility rate for U.S. in 2022 is 1.782 births per woman, a 0.06% increase from 2021. The fertility rate for U.S. in 2021 was 1.781 births per woman, a 0.11% increase from 2020. T he fertility rate for U.S. in 2020 was 1.779 births per woman, a 0.06% increase from 2019. .06% during Covid lockdown. lol Them the breaks. I dont need to convince anyone of anything. The ones with the required traits will either step up or not. We had this talk in 2013. The trap is set. The hallway has been made a killchute. Same as it ever was. Think of all the folks that america has droned and cluster bombed. They just used the bombing as the backbeat to their coupling. Some become resolute and the others part the way. Besides....you are somewhere in the reproductive organs of your Brothers children. No worries. We will likely have this same conversation in 500 years time...it may just be less digital. I think of it that way as well. If we do reincarnate through our bloodlines..I think that would be pretty cool. I would like to see and live in the future. The past is far less appealing to me. Too hostile and difficult. It's still like that all over the world. I was thinking earlier about if we do choose to come to Earth before we come here, that it would give you a big advantage where you're born. Like does it 'cost' extra to choose where you're born or even to whom? Fun to think about. Difficulties strengthen the Mind as labor does the body... ~Seneca |

Quoting: Sol-tari Given current conditions...and the knowledge of how those have deteriorated..is there any surprise? Even taking away the desire for the "ideal" conditions (90% divorce rates on behalf of college educated) even for those remaining 10%...well, like you said about hoarding of resources and the effects down the line - simple example being house cost increase (either buying or rent) vs wage growth. Basic necessities such as food are becoming a struggle for the generations after my own, and they were already difficult starting out then. Again tho, we are not mice. While some of the effects can certainly be applied in certain situations to try and apply it directly to humans and the current situation is always going to be rife with difficulties. I mean, if mothers start literally eating their babies...well...we've got a whole other topic to worry about It depends on their consumeristic leanings and moreso on the conditions they place on themselves. For generations these variables were in play in Europe. Until recently, there was no drop in fertility rates. There is something far more devious at play here. Already mentioned, edumakation There's also the whole equal rights thing, women no longer just being marriage stock and breeding material etc Standards of living went up, and have been declining heavily for all but the top. Can put the blame solely on consumerism if you like, but there's a reason a common "meme" is "when I was your age I had 2 kids and owned my house" "I have a degree and can't afford more then a 1bd apartment" It was true then, and became somewhat of a standard. People barely making rent can not afford a kid. People who don't think ahead might not care and the child will go without in various ways, as will the parents. Those who want some level of stability...conditions are not at all matching. Insert both idiocracy meme and Lucy opening scene "In a hostile environment they choose immortality, in a welcoming one they breed" paraphrased Im somewhere inbetween Maxwells and Laplaces daemons on that. Standards of living are just fine. The thirdworlders in canada feel like they've found utopia. Heck, Im one of those thirdworlders and life is grand. So...you're saying people raised in certain conditions expect certain conditions? And view them as either hospitable or hostile based on prior experience? Should have thought of that myself *Glitches May Occur. Consume(D) At Own Risk |
