Kayli L|ark User ID: 71697716 Spain 03/22/2016 05:34 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I would need a bit more leeway time in order to get into spring term - classes are already chosen and such. Also, I surrendered my apartment and my lease is void so I will have to live with my mom for a little bit. I will have to re-enroll for the fall by the looks of things. Quoting: Kayli L|ark Either way it probably would have ended up with me withdrawing as my mental state had deteriorated to the point where I couldn't perform for classes at all. At least this way, I was able to withdraw from the term with a nice official letter and will be returning potentially with credit for studying abroad or something. Not sure how I feel about going back to Irvine, but having a summer of working and mundane whateverness is alright by me. I could finish my degree elsewhere, as well...things to consider. I bet she will be very happy to see you as will your sister and friends. Did her creepy roommate move out? Hard work builds character. Often in a manner that will hopefully, require less hard work in one's future. Fall term is still half a year away. Plenty of time to make a choice for what is best for you. Yes, I think they are looking forward to having me back :) I do miss California. It's very hard to trade one's culture... He did indeed move out, and I'll be taking over his room and helping her pay rent at the house. I do like that room as it has it's own private entrance. I am also really looking forward to seeing my doggy Nero again. I was kind of afraid I'd never see him again if I stayed out here... Home sickness is perfectly natural and healthy. Home is where the heart is. I think it is wonderful that 'creepy roommate' is gone and you will now be back around your family and peer group. Planning on completing your degree and working over the Summer, seems great goals to focus on now. Dogs really are the best of us. :) I think it's a good thing as well. I may help my mom do some marketing for her landscaping business which would be nice. I gotta say, nothing like travelling abroad to gain a little perspective on people in your life. It's been a fascinating experience though - it was a crazy thing to do I know, but I'm glad that I did it. I gotta finish my degree anyway though. I've come too far not to...probably something I'd regret not doing. |

Yes, I have heard similar by many who have lived abroad and how quickly they began appreciating the little things they took for granted before. It seems all is well, that ends well. I imagine it was a great learning experience all around. You are definitely too close to completing your degree to stop now. I'm not one who believes that a fish can evolve into a mammal but who knows, maybe in a million years, Ceres would be transformed and teeming with life. Perhaps life exists there already. Hiding in the brine. Brine shrimp Artemia is a genus of aquatic crustaceans known as brine shrimp. Artemia, the only genus in the family Artemiidae, has changed little externally since the Triassic period. Artemia populations are found worldwide in inland saltwater lakes, but not in oceans. Artemia are able to avoid cohabiting with most types of predators, such as fish, by their ability to live in waters of very high salinity (up to 25%).[3] The ability of the Artemia to produce dormant eggs, known as cysts, has led to extensive use of Artemia in aquaculture. The cysts may be stored for long periods and hatched on demand to provide a convenient form of live feed for larval fish and crustaceans. Nauplii of the brine shrimp Artemia constitute the most widely used food item, and over 2000 tonnes of dry Artemia cysts are marketed worldwide annually. In addition, the resilience of Artemia makes them ideal animals for running biological toxicity assays and it has become a model organism used to test the toxicity of chemicals. Breeds of Artemia are sold as novelty gifts under the marketing name Sea-Monkeys or Aqua Dragons [link to en.wikipedia.org (secure)] Difficulties strengthen the Mind as labor does the body... ~Seneca |
