Can't wait for our fearless leader to be re-ensconsed onto her couch. I was discombobulated all week with her being away. I'm sure she will be just as glad to be on her couch, steering this ole ship again.

Yep, it does always feel good to get back home. Especially after a less than stellar trip. I bet she's having a long day of traveling.

How you feeling these days Isis?
 Quoting: KickinIt

Hi KickinIt, pretty good all things considered. Still on the mend from the c-diff. Had to have emergency oral surgery tow weeks ago. Stepped in a hole in the yard with an old pvc pipe in it and slit my heel open and it won't heal. Then another tooth cracked Thursday and I had to get a crown. Now I've got a budding sinus infection! All I can do at this point is lol, lol. Thanks for asking. How are You doing?

Oh Isis, this is all just too much !!! You are still on my prayer list, and now moved to the top.....

Good lord, that's too much stuff! I guess I've reached that age too where it's one thing or another. At least that's how it feels. I admit getting old sucks. At least so far. Thank goodness you take good care of yourself or lord knows what kind of shape you'd be in!

Horrific - there was a beach festival happening in Palu when the tsunami struck. [link to Kompas.com] is reporting around 250 police who were working to secure the festival are missing.

[link to twitter.com (secure)]
 Quoting: joinca

At least 384 killed in Indonesian quake, tsunami

Hundreds had gathered for a festival on the beach in the city of Palu on Friday when waves as high as six meters (18 feet) smashed onshore at dusk, sweeping many to their death and destroying anything in their path, following a 7.5 magnitude earthquake.

Reuters is reporting 500 dead.
WaPo has this:
"Yenni Suryani, country manager for Catholic Relief Services in Indonesia, said Saturday that rescuers have not been able to reach the affected area and that communications were still down close to the epicenter in the Donggala region. Palu’s airport was closed Saturday, its runway badly cracked from the quake."

That yahoo link is via Reuters. It had just been posted 15 min. before I saw it, so I assumed the count was fairly accurate at that point. Although, I think the death toll is going to rise quickly today. I'm sure it easily rose by 100 since I woke up 45 min. ago. Sadly.

Nothing too thrilling. I decided to take advantage of no plans and get some projects done. Namely the rematting and reframing of some artwork I have. Even though I moved over a year ago, I still don't have most of my artwork hung. I've hung a few things, and I have several pieces out and leaning, but I want it on the walls! I waited because I wanted to address the framing/re-framing issues before I determined where certain pieces would go. And clearly I've been lazy about addressing the framing issues.

Last night after work I got some matting cut (needed odd sizes) and also found new frames for 2 pieces. Today I'm going to hit a few more places because I need one more frame. I'm going to work on getting those together and also doing a thorough cleaning off of my other art that's been sitting around collecting dust. If I have time today I also have a few pieces I want to take to a frame shop. And there's one in my neighborhood literally at the end of the block, so it's ridiculous I haven't been in there yet.

I also want to watch our last 2 baseball games today/tomorrow. We have a very slight chance of getting the 2nd wild card spot. Need to win though, and we need L.A. to lose. And I'm making soup tomorrow! And I want to spend intermittent periods outside on the patio, because it's going to be a lovely 75 today!

Oh, get this - it's going to be mid to upper 80's here all this week! Fucking summer!

If i had my own place i'd have nothing to put on the walls! I used to have a bunch of bad ass posters in college but those have long been lost. I bet you rock some cool paintings at the crib.

Hope you get to watch the games and your team wins! I'll be watching the WVU football game at work.

Was chilly out this morning, i had to put the heat on actually. Love it, i'm ready for fall already

haha, most single men lack art on their walls! I love art and have been collecting much of my life. I have always hit up local art fairs and tried to find good scores on the cheap. I also have a few friends who are artists who I've bought pieces from. And then I acquired some things when my mom and my aunts died. It's a pretty eclectic collection of all mediums.

MLB.com is allowing free access to stream games this weekend! As long as you have an MLB account (which you would if you ever bought tickets or merchandise online), you just need to log in.

It's chilly here this morning too. the weather has been outstanding here since last weekend. Now we pay the price this week and it goes back to summer. For god's sake, it feels like this summer is never gonna end.
