Probably got 6 hours - definitely not enough for this 9 hour girl. Oh well, at least I'll crash well tonight and be rested for work tomorrow. Hope your writings last night/this morning helped you feel better. That was definitely a productive way to let out some angst and process your feelings. Have a nice Sunday! |

I slept OK. I am not sleeping well though. I am still pissed off. I am thinking about seeing an attorney and seeing if I have any successful legal recourse. I have had to deal with: over 6 months of workplace bullying and harassment at the hands of the manager of the department in 2016, shortly before I injured my leg. I filed a complaint with HR at the time detailing everything this fucker said and did. Then since a month after I returned I endured constant workplace harassment by the new manager of the department - that he promoted - after my falsified bad review. Please note the new manager of the department and I have a rivalry that goes way back at least 10 years to another place where we worked together. It is not fair that these assholes are promoted when 1. They both engaged in workplace bullying and harassment, 2. Constant lying, multiple cases of libel, slander, and defamation of character, not to mention this promoted manager was calling in sick once a week for over a year. "You will be the first write-up of my career" the manager I complained about said. Well then "you will be the first lawsuit of my career" is what I wanted to say. What prompted the 10 page complaint I wrote against this fucker was when he bragged to me about having so many complaints but said "everyone comes around to see that *I* AM RIGHT." |

What prompted the 10 page complaint I wrote against this fucker was when he bragged to me about having so many complaints but said "everyone comes around to see that *I* AM RIGHT." I agree it's not fair but I can say what you are experiencing I've seen over and over in the workplace. If you are not part of the "elite" group, then you have no protection. Period. And HR is worthless in today's world. There was a day when they were there to support employees, but now they are there to protect the higher ups, their own asses, and ensure the place isn't sued. I won't get into all the detail, but my firing was unethical in the way they handled it. And I'm not even talking about myself and how I was affected - I'm talking about the people who I served. And I do mean legit unethical- they were forcing me to violate the ethical guidelines for my profession by trying to make the layoff effective immediately. I had to argue that point for 20 minutes before they agreed to let me stay 2 more weeks to wrap things up. And these were VERY high up HR people. I was working for a large system with multiple entities under it, and these HR people were the top dogs for the entire large system. Yet they are so clueless and focused on power and the almighty dollar they had no idea nor did they care they were breaching serious ethics and that the decision would greatly affect their own employees. Bunch of assholes! I could go on and on but I do think you should at least consult a good employment law attorney and see if you have a case. If not, they will tell you that, but I think it might make you feel better to explore your options. But I digress....let's get off our soapboxes and try to enjoy our Sunday! Channel your energy into something productive. Play that piano! |

[link to www.dailymail.co.uk] ![]() I was on James Island off the coast of Charleston when Hugo hit. We were near Folly Beach which had houses complete picked up and moved into the center of streets by the oceanfront. Between us and Folly were multiple tiny islands that were alligator refuges. Alligators and snakes came in from the low country swamps and tore up some in-ground swimming pools. The one across the street from us had two gators that could not find the steps up from the pool right off, but eventually did and roamed around the street. My husband was with two other men that were clearing the street from trees that had fallen over so emergency vehicles could come through if they had to. One guy was so close to a gator that he almost sawed through its jaw. That gator ran so fast but it was a close call. I don't know what the wildlife is like near Houston but I sure hope people wading around in the water as we have seen through broadcasts are wearing very heavy boots. You have no idea what you're going to step on when the water's four feet high on your street. I can only add that copperheads are more aggressive than water moccasins which stayed low on the ground but the rattlers climbed whatever was there; trees, your gutters, telephone poles and generally stayed out of the way. We heard guns going off from people shooting snakes throughout the day. Last Edited by -Haun- on 08/27/2017 01:47 PM |

I've never heard of so many people with blood disorders as I have in the past several years. No idea what's up with that. I bet you the incidence has increased lately. Quoting: Isis One I wouldn't doubt it. Seems many health issues are on the rise lately. :\ My specific blood issues are my hemoglobin and hematocrit are too high. They leveled off to normal last year when I was being drained every so often, but I haven't been drained since last August and now my numbers are way up there again. High enough that I have to see a hematologist again. Blah. That really stinks. Are you able to donate blood? If so and the doctors won't drain, maybe giving blood would do similar and give relief? In any case, I'll be praying for you. I wish, because it would help, but with my current levels they won't take it. It can't be used for anyone else. :\ I'll take the prayers though! ![]() ~*Ride the Wave*~ |
