Who knows. She just broke up with her boyfriend (about 2 hours ago) so even more drama. She is a mess right now and Mom and Dad are doing their best. We pull our hair out together when she isn't there to witness her parents behaving like toddlers.

Solar Update

Good evening. The visible solar disk has officially been void of numbered sunspots for the 5th day in a row. Solar flare activity is expected to remain at very low levels over the next day or so.

A persistent solar wind stream above 650 km/s originating from coronal hole #51 continues to move past our planet and is expected to gradually decrease over the next 24 hours. The quiet period may be short lived however as another enhancement will be possible beginning January 11th thanks to coronal hole #52. Sky watchers at higher latitudes should remain alert for visible aurora for the remainder of the week.

I can't believe it.

I accidentally knocked my mirror off the table, and it crash landed into the floor. I thought I was done for - 7 years of bad luck.

But by some miraculous chance -- it did NOT BREAK!!!

Re: Earthquake Thread ~ Always Updated*5.3 Mid-Indian Ridge*5.2 Mid-Indian Ridge ~ Pg 20449
The Milky Way's black hole is spewing out planet-size 'spitballs'

Every few thousand years, an unlucky star wanders too close to the black hole at the center of the Milky Way. The black hole's powerful gravity rips the star apart, sending a long streamer of gas whipping outward. That would seem to be the end of the story, but it's not. New research shows that not only can the gas gather itself into planet-size objects, but those objects then are flung throughout the galaxy in a game of cosmic "spitball."

"A single shredded star can form hundreds of these planet-mass objects. We wondered: Where do they end up? How close do they come to us? We developed a computer code to answer those questions," says lead author Eden Girma, an undergraduate student at Harvard University and a member of the Banneker/Aztlan Institute.
Girma is presenting her findings at a Wednesday poster session and Friday press conference at a meeting of the American Astronomical Society.

Wow, that was a close one!

A ~25-meter asteroid, 2017 AG13, will make a really, really close flyby of Earth today (0.5 Lunar Distance)

We caught newly discovered asteroid 2017 AG13 as it made an extremely close approach to Earth this morning. It was closer than the Moon!

This is pretty much the only place I really feared would show up. The Western Indian-Antarctic Ridge. I know it's easy for me to say because I live safely here in a zone which never has earthquakes over three magnitude, but I really hope you all will be safe during the next days.

I went up all the quakes 8.5 or stronger, more than once did that particular location show up. I will post a list which ones soon. This might be the last precursor.
